The objective of this project was the development of advanced telemedicine systems that provide transmission of medical and diagnostic signals and images and exchange of data and information between medical databases. The IVML worked on the extension of the JPEG algorithm for compression and transmission of color medical images, namely substituting arithmetic encoding with Huffman and encoding the images in a progressive and ROI-sensitive manner |
